Ben had mac n cheese and grapes, standard toddler fare.

Maddie didn’t care for the mac n cheese (wha?), but obviously enjoyed the hummus and falafel.

(Her first photo with teeth!)
We had a pretty great day together. Grocery store, walk outside this morning. Lunch. The ever elusive Double Naptime! Our friend and nanny Catherine came to stay with the babes this afternoon for a couple of hours while I ran errands. Then we went to the neighborhood playground with our new friends and neighbors Holly and Ruby. Maddie and Ruby enjoy swinging together and playing in the pea gravel on the playground afterwards. Maddie lives only to eat the pea gravel.
In other exciting playground news, Ben asked to swing for the first time ever when we were all there on Monday. I said yes and tried to play it cool. He let me help him into the seat, he held on tight, and positively beamed as I pushed him back and forth. He’s 2. This was the first time he ever wanted to swing, the first time he’d even try it. He loved it.
Then he fell flat out when he was done, arms and legs splayed, face in the pea gravel.
But he wanted to swing again today. First thing when we got to the playground, even before playing on the slides.
So much new, so many firsts. I’m trying to soak up the fleeting deliciousness of it all.

Elle doesn’t like mac ‘n cheese either. She did. No she doesn’t. She only eats at school anyway. Crazy! What kid doesn’t like mac ‘n cheese. I guess it’s Elle and Maddie.
