On the morning of the 4th we walked in the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Parade with our friends Cheri, Jeff, and Beck–Cheri was kind enough to take the photo above for us. We had a great time being outside in spite of the heat, reconnecting with several other friends in the neighborhood, and enjoying all the bikes and red wagons tricked out in honor of the day. We fantasized about staging a combined Wooten Park~North Shoal Creek parade next year if we’re still here in the ‘hood. Doesn’t seem likely after the recent conversations N and I have had about moving in the next year, but that’s a topic for another post.
We spent the evening of the 4th swimming and having dinner with my cousin Stephanie and her family and friends at their house on Lake Travis. It was Ben’s first dip in the pool this summer, and Maddie’s first dip in the pool ever. Stephanie was kind enough to take photos of the babes in the pool for us–I’ll post em if they come this way. We even saw a few fireworks on the drive home from Lago Vista.
It was a rich, if exhausting, day. Hope you all had a very Happy 4th, too.
