Sunrise Ruby

 Madeleine tolerates tummy time fairly well–she swims her arms and legs a little, and even lifts her head up at a 45 degree angle or so.  Go, Maddie, go.

Ben wanted to wrestle with her during tummy time this morning, but (reluctantly, after being restrained) settled for touching her softly instead:

Ben is growing into his role as big brother at an astonishing, heart-melting rate.  He likes to pat Madeleine on the head while I’m holding her, and he likes to peek at her over the side of her bassinet while she’s sleeping.  (There was also a moment when he found a pair of Cuban heels in my closet and began throwing them into the bassinet with her, though.) He seems genuinely concerned when she’s crying.  In the past week, he began kissing her on the head and nuzzling her while I’m holding her, too.

These little people we’ve made are so amazing.  And we have the awesome task of helping them grow up together.  I have no words.

(I also still have no sleep.  Can’t wait until Maddie sleeps for longer than 2-3 hours at a stretch.)
