What I made for dinner tonight

Embarrassingly easy yet yummy:
Split Pea Soup

1 lb. split peas, rinsed and drained
1 med. onion, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
3 Tbsp. olive oil
6 cups stock
1-2 tsp. dried thyme
salt and pepper to taste

Ben is 8 weeks old today and had his 2-month well check with the pediatrician this morning. He weighs 10 lbs. 6 oz. now, and he’s 23 inches long, which is in the 50th percentile for term babies his age–wow! Also, he got his first set of vaccination shots. We both cried. [...]
